Specialist roofing and cladding company Thornton recently aided the construction of a new storage and distribution centre with associated retail unit, customer café and car parking for Asia Supermarket Ltd.
Construction commenced in January 2017 on the four-acre site bound by Ormeau Embankment, St Kilda Street and Ravenhill Reach and was completed in July 2018.
Antrim-based Thornton lent its expertise to the project through the provision of its approved installers with fully trained operatives. The £5m supermarket upgrade utilized Kingspan KS1000 Trapezoidal roof panels, a popular choice for commercial roofing structure owing to its durability, easy maintenance and high safety standards.
To ensure the building had optimal weather resistance and strength, Thornton utilised the Kingspan KS1000MR wall panels; these well-established products were selected for their proven track record for value and performance. The panels utilise PIR insulation filler and an internal liner to ensure that the building is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also technically sound. As preferred fitters for Kingspan, Thornton had the expertise and resources necessary to ensure this project was executed to the very highest standard.
Paul McErlane, Contracts Manager at Thornton commented: ‘Thornton is incredibly proud to have been involved with this project, which represents a major investment in the local economy. Our highly trained operatives delivered exceptional results through hard work, commitment and attention to detail – qualities we pride ourselves on at Thornton roofing”.
