Scope
Thornton Roofing was chosen for the provision of roofing and cladding systems for the new £27m campus for Ebrington Primary School and Foyle College, a non-denominational grammar school in Northern Ireland dating back to 1617.
The project was completed in phases, with Phase Two concluding in December 2017 to allow staff and students to move in by January 2018. Thornton Roofing’s expertise in fitting a wide range of guttering, roofing and cladding systems worked seamlessly with the wider project team to ensure the new campus was delivered on time, on brief and would accommodate the needs of staff and pupils alike.
The project brought together a suite of carefully-selected roofing systems and Alter Ego stone cladding to create a modern, low-maintenance finish that would ensure longevity for the building structure.
John Walshe at Thornton Roofing said:
“We were delighted to collaborate with our long-standing partners Heron Bros on this expansive project, working closely with a range of skilled teams to deliver the project on time and to an extremely high standard.”
“In total, our expert team installed 8500m² of Bauder PVC roofing, 870m² of Bauder Bitumenous roofing and 480m² of Alter Ego Stone cladding, including Aluminium fascia and soffit systems complete with Rainwater goods. Our in-house design team custom designed the fascia and soffit trays for the building structure, ensuring a professional and aesthetically-pleasing finish to the fascia and guttering systems.”
Ebrington Primary School and Foyle College adds to Thornton Roofing’s impressive repertoire of school building projects, stemming from over 50 years of experience in fitting roofing and cladding systems.
